1998

Andreas Schilling founded AS Medizintechnik GmbH with the aim of offering a complete range of surgical instruments to the German market. At that time our product portfolio contained approximately 12,000 different surgical instruments, container systems and accessories.

2001

Continuous growth requires more space and new offices, which was the reason to relocate the office to Sattlerstrasse 15 in Tuttlingen-Nendingen, which is still our office address today.

2002

The product portfolio has increased to approximately 16,000 different surgical instruments and AS Medizintechnik began promoting their products globally.

2004

AS presented the first edition of the main surgical catalog in a printed version.

2007

The international distributor network includes Partners in 50 different countries worldwide. The product portfolio expanded to approximately 18,000 items in order to be competitive on national and international markets.

An additional construction of the AS main building was completed and relocation of various departments began in autumn 2007. All offices have been relocated to the new constructed main building which provided more space for logistics and technology in the original building from 2001.

2008 | 10 years AS Medizintechnik

The 2nd generation of the main surgery catalog was published. The surgical catalog was completely redesigned with detailed drawings and more precise product descriptions. Further to that the new corporate identity was introduced by AS in the year 2008. Not enough, we even invested into the first laser marking machine in order to mark TITAN, DLC coated and various other AS instruments in a more professional way.

2011

By acquiring another building at Industriestrasse 26 in Tuttlingen-Nendingen, we were able to expand our warehouse area. Today, the asipco® Sterilizing-Containers are produced, assembled and stored in this building.

2012

The 3rd generation of the surgery main catalog was published and provided with a modification of the AS Corporate Identity. Further details and descriptions have been added to the AS main catalog to make it more precise and easier to use for our partners and clients.

2013 | 15 years AS Medizintechnik

AS invest in three BELIMED cleaning- and disinfection machines to provide a validated final cleaning according to DIN EN ISO 13485:2012. From that moment all AS instruments are validated cleaned and specially tested within the cleaning process.

2015

The international network includes Partners in more than 60 countries worldwide. The product portfolio expanded to approximately 20,000 AS products.

The third upgrade of our existing building has been started at the beginning of 2015 and completed by summer. This huge investment has been done to meet future medical requirements and allows our logistic and technology department to gain the special logistic and finish steps within a department area of approx. 330 m².

2016

Investment of two brand new and state of the art laser machines to provide a corrosion free marking on our AS products. Further to that we have bought a new laser-welding machine to gain more stability and longer life-times.

2017

Presentation of the self-developed Sterilizing-Container System asipco®. In the same year, we were able to win the reddot design award with the asipco® Sterilizing-Container System.

Launching of the GS1-UDI standard process for all AS products, from 01st January 2017 all our AS surgical instruments are GS1-UDI direct marked. In combination with our 3 BELIMED washing machines we are in the position to passivate AS products after laser marking.

2018 | 20 years AS Medizintechnik

AS Medizintechnik becomes a member of the DIN (German Institute for Standardization e.V.)

2020

Expansion of the laser marking department with an additional ultrashort pulse laser to increase capacity.

2021

Installation of an additional cleaning and disinfection machine from BELIMED.

2023 | 25 years AS Medizintechnik

25 years AS Medizintechnik: 1998 - 2023 AS Medizintechnik celebrates its 25th anniversary.

2023

AS Medizintechnik Class 1 and 1R products have been MDR (EU) 2017/745 approved since May 2023. Another milestone in our company history.
